“Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.”
(Psalm 140:10)

“And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?
Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
Who will render to every man according to his deeds.”
(Romans 2:3-7)
“But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile.”
(Romans 2:8-9)

“The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.”
(Psalm 9:17)
Hell was created by God for the Devil and his angels to be punished. Man has largely submitted to the Devil and his kingdom. God is a holy and just judge and will punish unrepentant men, by sending them to hell for all eternity.
“Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.”
(Matthew 25:41)
John the Baptist warned of hellfire!
“Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”
(Matthew 3:12)
“Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.”
(Luke 3:7-9)
“And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.”
(Isaiah 66:24)
This Scripture will be fulfilled in the future when God establishes the new heaven and earth (Rev. 21:1). People on earth will be able to look into the lake of fire and see people there in eternal torment (Is. 66:22-24).

“And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.”
(Revelation 14:11)
“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”
(1 Corinthians 1:18)

“Let death seize upon them, and let them go down quick into hell: for wickedness is in their dwellings, and among them.”
(Psalm 55:15)
Jesus spoke of two places regarding hell: firstly, there is Hades where unsaved sinners go as soon as they die awaiting judgment. In the Old Testament, it was called Sheol. It was known as “the place of departed spirits”. Typically we can read about Hades in Luke 16:19-31.
Secondly, there is Gehenna which is The Lake of Fire and eternal abode of the unbelievers, after they have been judged at the Great White Throne Judgment. Jesus spoke of Gehenna liking it to a well-known refuse dump outside Jerusalem, which burned continually.
“And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
(Revelation 20:14-15)
